Electricians buy wires as 90 m coils, sized by cross-section. Lighting uses 1.5 sq mm, sockets use 2.5 sq mm, and ACs and heavy appliances use 4 or 6 sq mm. FR (flame-retardant) grade is standard for homes. Switches, MCBs and distribution boards are modular, and dealers price them per module or way.
Use 1.5 sq mm for lighting circuits and 2.5 sq mm for 6 A socket circuits. Use 4 sq mm for 16 A sockets (geysers, ACs up to ~2 ton) and 6 sq mm for heavier loads or long runs.
